A good stretch of games for the Mavericks who although were seeded #8 have yet to be tested. They moved the ball well and answered a Thunder run that closed the lead to 39-31, but then outscored them 13-2 in the final minutes. They mix a good 3-point game with strength inside and are very quick defensively.

First things first. SATCH You are messing with my mind – we have some issues to workout. Please let me explain. On Thursday I came late to your game since I had another game first. I sat down and logged some play, made some comments – truthfully thought the #1 seed was in total control. The game is over and I am finishing my comments and I notice this coach and a player come up by my table and he has “Thunder” written on his shirt. I asked him which team he was (because I knew that team had lost) and realized I had written the entire thing backwards – true confession time. I changed it around to look like I knew what I was doing, but a #8 can beat a #1 - not normally but it does happen.
Now let’s switch to today. I looked up your records to post on my intro - You have beaten the three opponents you have by an average of 30 points per game. YOU HAVE AN EXCELLENT TEAM! So I go today to watch the game with Elkhart. What a game – congratulations on the victory. I have no idea how many losses you have this year, but you certainly can’t have many. You are disciplined- play hard- smart and let’s face it very good. Keep it up – you will be hard to beat.
Now to the Elkhart Hawks.
I think today you played the best team you have played all year. To me the SATCH team was clearly the number one seed in your 6A brackets. I would say they could not have had as tough a game all year possibly. You have surprised so many and I am sure drew a large following today. Keep your head high, you have nothing be down about, you did your best. Come back tomorrow and keep doing what you are doing. You are the “Little Engine That Could” - YOU GOT GAME and SATCH knows it.
To both teams, thanks for the tremendous effort you put forth today – it doesn’t get much better. You both were winners regardless of the outcome and we the fans won also by having the privilege of watching your game - and SATCH you have game also and it shows big time.
