Two teams favored on Monday night met at Hillcrest Gym( court 8 great facility) looking to redeem themselves. The game was intense from start tofinish. Derby likes to penetrate and usetheir two big men inside. The Wildcatslike to push the tempo and balance their running game with three point shots.
After a close first quarter, Travis Burkettdrained 3 three pointers to get a run going for the Wildcats. As was the case on Monday evening againstLakeshore, the gritty Invasion kept coming and coming- they play really fitsthe name well.
In the end, they came upa little short – 48-42 – as the Wildcats were able to rebound with the Invasionand their pressure created problems for Derby. Both teams should be one of the top seeds in their division.
