The National Christian Homeschool Basketball Championship was founded in 1991, the first tournament was played in March of 1992 in San Antonio, Texas.

National Christian Homeschool Tournaments are designed to provide top quality tournaments for Home Educated Student Athletes. There are a serious of eligibility guidelines that are designed to make sure that every participant is a Home Educated Student first and an athlete second. As homeschool sports tournaments have grown the resemblance of AAU type teams or all-star teams began to become common and widespread, player were added to teams for the purpose of creating a competitive advantage. Guidelines were implemented as needed. These guidelines are not only meant to keep the playing field level at the National Tournaments but are also designed to protect the reputation of homeschool teams on a national and local level.
