Hope Petersen of Plano, Tx, has committed to play basketball for Oklahoma
Baptist University in Shawnee Oklahoma beginning in the fall of 2008.
The 5'9" Senior Guard/Forward has had a successful career in homeschool basketball garnering All American Honors on the 14u National Championship Dallas Thunder Girls team in 2004 as well as earning MVP and Christian Character Honors for the 16u State and National Champion Dallas Thunder Girls team in 2006. This season Hope rejoined her long-time teammate and dear friend, Whitney Williams, to play for the defending National Champion THESA Riders under the leadership of Coach Alan
Burt. She is a solid producer and team player providing another quality contributor to an already strong team and has been selected to play in the 2008 National Christian Homeschool All-America Game.
In the fall, she will begin her pursuit of a degree in Nursing at Oklahoma Baptist University on Academic and Athletic Scholarship and will play ball under the direction of Coach John McCullough and Assistant Coach John Marcum. "Hope is solid fundamentally and has a strong work ethic. I feel that she will fit well into our program" says Marcum. Hope has received coaching and skills training for a number of years from Coach Elton Drake, Founder of Old School New School Hooper's Club in Plano Tx. Congratulations Hope!
