12/11/07 - Concordia was led in the double-overtime thriller by sophomore Joel McDonald (Lubbock, Texas), who set the conference single-game record for this season with 43 points. McDonald shot 13-of-21 from the floor, including 8-of-11 from three-point range, and 9-of-9 from the charity stripe.
12/15/07 - Leading the way for Concordia was sophomore Joel McDonald (Lubbock,
Texas). McDonald scored 30 points (breaking the 20 point mark for the second straight game), including a 6-of-14 performance from
beyond the arc, along with five rebounds and a team-high three assists.
1/22/07 - Concordia finished with five players in double digits led by Joel
McDonald with 22 points. Roland Mitchell added 14 points, Michael
Moore, Michael Mann, and Brad Walker each had 11 points.
1/28/07 - Joel McDonald scored 23 to leading the Tornados and added six rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block.
1/30/07 - The Tornados’ leading scorers against the Cru were Brad Walker (Brenham, Texas) and Joel McDonald (Lubbock, Texas). Walker, who has become an offensive force of late, scored 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting while also totaling seven rebounds, four assists, four steals and a block. McDonald, drawing ever nearer to Concordia’s all-time points list, also tallied 24 points on the night in addition to grabbing three boards and going 5-of-5 from the charity stripe.
2/3/07 - The Tornados put themselves one step closer to making it to the ASC
Tournament by taking down the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs 93-79 at Woltman
Gym. The Tornados are now 7-8 in the ASC and 8-11 overall on the year. McDonald headlined the Concordia attack with 26 points on 10-of-21 shooting, including 4-of-12 from beyond the arc.
2/7/07 - McDonald scored 15 points on the night on 5-of-12 shooting from the floor while also pulling down six rebounds in a 96-77 loss to Mary Hardin-Baylor.
2/11/07 - Joel McDonald becomes seventh member of 1000-point club; Tornados clinch playoff berth for first time - McDonald poured in 29 points as he went on to break 1000 points scoring for his career as a Concordia Tornado. The 99-67 win against Sul Ross State puts the Tornados in the American Southwest Conference Tournament for the first time since joining the conference in 1999. The 2007 ASC Conference Tournament will be held February 23-25 in Canton, MS home of Mississippi College.

Concordia-Austin sophomore guard Joel McDonald (Lubbock, Texas) poured in 27 points against Howard Payne and 29 against Sul Ross State – both wins – to help the Tornados wrapup their first-ever berth in the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament. Onthe 2-1 week, the ASC’s leading scorer averaged 23.7 points and 5.3 rebounds while shooting 90percent from the free-throw line (9 of 10). McDonald, who also broke the 1,000-point barrier on his career, hit 14 three-pointers and dished out four assists.
